How Handled works

One clear request becomes a contractor-ready quote request.

You show us the issue. We organize it, send it to qualified contractors, check the results, and present the options that fit what matters most to you.

1

Submit the issue and photos

Provide your contact information, project address, a useful description, photos, timing, and preference scores. All jobs are quoted from what you submit.

2

We review the request

The system organizes the project. A human monitors the request and checks that the photos and scope can support an accurate quote.

3

Qualified contractors respond

Only interviewed contractors under agreement receive leads. They have up to 24 hours to return price, availability, duration, assumptions, exclusions, and warranty information.

4

The strongest matches are checked

The system ranks options using your preference scores. Quality considers public sentiment. Speed considers the earliest real availability. Humans review contractor eligibility and quote accuracy.

5

You receive a transparent result

If no one responds, we tell you we could not find a contractor. If one or two respond, we tell you exactly how many quotes came back. With three or more, we simply present the options that best fit your priorities.

6

Reserve with $50

Choose a contractor and appointment. Handled retains the $50 reservation payment, and it is credited toward the total quoted project price.

7

The contractor takes over

Once the contractor is found and the relationship is handed off, the contractor handles communication, work, payment, warranty, and disputes. Handled becomes involved again only when the customer asks for support.

8

No-show protection

A confirmed contractor no-show removes that contractor from the lead tool. Customers receive a no-questions-asked refund when requested, and automatically after 24 hours of a confirmed missed appointment.

The payment model

A contractor submits the total quoted project price. The customer pays $50 through Handled when reserving the appointment. The $50 is credited toward the quoted total, and the remaining quoted balance is paid directly to the contractor under the accepted scope.

Example

Quoted total: $2,500
Paid to Handled at booking: $50
Estimated remaining balance paid to contractor: $2,450

The 24-hour rule

Contractors normally have the full 24-hour response window. If speed is your highest priority and ten qualified responses arrive before the deadline, the system may stop waiting and present the fastest qualified options from those responses.
